WATER HEATERS
At Mike Tilton Quality Plumbing and Heating, we pride ourselves on our expertise in the plumbing field. It cannot be stressed enough how important it is that a water heater, especially a gas water heater, be correctly installed by a knowledgeable and qualified technician. I have personally seen situations where a customer previously had their water heater installed by someone who “knew how to do it” but weren’t experts in the field. The water heaters were very often dangerous to the customer and their family, and did not operate efficiently or correctly. But you can rest assured that when you call Mike Tilton Plumbing your water heater will be expertly installed no matter current or previous conditions. We can identify any and all installation issues (past or present) and correct them. Your water heater when installed by us will work at a peak performance for the full life of the heater.

Normal gas water heater change outs:

40 gallon gas water heater in exterior closet or room $685. 50 gallon $750.
40 gallon gas water heater in attic $750. 50 gallon $825.
75 gallon gas water heater in exterior closet or room $1,195.
75 gallon gas water heater in attic $1,285.
The Three main brands of water heaters we install are Rheem, Bradford White, and A.O. Smith. We believe all three brands are equivalent. The water heater brand we install in your house is determined by which distributor you are closest to but you can request a brand if you have a preference.
If the vent piping on the water heater needs replacing, you can expect that to cost approximately an additional $150. This will cover up to a 10 foot run. When longer runs of vent piping are required we will quote it individually. If the gas line should need repair or replacing, you can expect an additional $35.
Normal electric water heater change outs:
40 gallon electric water heater in exterior closet or room $620. 50 gallon $695.
40 gallon electric water heater inattic $685. 50 gallon $750.
65 gallon electric water heater in exterior closet or room $905.
65 gallon electric water heater in attic $995.
**Larger water heaters and special circumstance water heaters will be quoted individually. Estimates are free.
For both gas and electric water heaters a pan with a drain line attached is required in the state of Louisiana. It is also required the temperature and pressure relief valve drain line be ran also. Both lines must be ran to the exterior of the house. This work will have to be quoted individually. Most water heaters have these lines already installed. They are there to protect you and your property and are very important.
Tankless water heaters:
A new popular water heater is the tankless water heater. They are as advertised, very efficient and a great addition to your plumbing system. Obviously, installing these in a new house under construction is much easier than replacing your old tank water heater with one. Here at Mike Tilton Plumbing our staff has been well trained to do both. If you are looking to replace your old water heater with a tankless water heater just call Mike Tilton. Tankless water heater repairs:
Repairing tankless water heaters in relatively new to the plumbing trade. At Mike Tilton Plumbing, our staff has been trained by the manufacturers of these companies to diagnose and repair them. If your tanklesswater heater is having any problems at all, we can diagnose and correct them. We can also check the installation of a tankless heater to ensure it was done correctly.

Garbage disposals:
If you are having problems with your garbage disposal, you can call Mike Tilton Plumbing & Heating and we will determine whether your disposal needs repairing or replacing.
